First act: The action takes place in a run-down hotel near the Falls. Two friends in a room. Beds, on one sits Juan half-dressed, 2 chairs, on one sits José ready to go out, sportswear, 2 suitcases on the floor showing messy clothes as if someone yanked everything out and rummaged through it all, the set is finished off with a small table.

Jorge: Either you get up or I go alone to see the falls and the National Park.

Juan: Oh, the falls, I turn on a tap and I've already got a waterfall, the national park, a few scrawny little trees and some flowers, maybe some bird.

José: What did you even come for, blowhard, if you're not interested? We'd been saving up to come and now you hit me with this, sure, I didn't listen to you when you wanted me to sell my motorcycle to have more money, you've got a steady job, but I make my living doing deliveries and I live off tips, and you know I need the bike for that. Sure, you two get by fine because Marga has a good salary. You don't deserve her, you're a fraud.

Juan: Don't even say her name, I came to get a break from her, with any luck I'll have a good time, with some little sweetheart on the side. Don't you dare spoil it for me, or tell her, unless you're in love with her yourself, you faithful friend.

José: You don't deserve her, good thing I know you, you're all show and no substance, you forget the three of us have been friends since childhood and to me Marga is like a sister and I don't want you cheating on her.

Juan: Come on, little brother, let's go have breakfast, I hope they give us a good breakfast, what do you say? Ha, ha.

José laughs, with what we're paying, we'll be lucky if they give us coffee with milk and a croissant.

They exit, end of act.

Second act: a very run-down café, few tables, at one two very pretty young women having breakfast, Juan and José enter, and Juan picks the table closest to the girls.

They come in and with his best smile Juan greets them: What are these little flowers doing here all alone, didn't anyone pick them to put in a buttonhole?

José under his breath: Idiot.

Juan: Are you going to see nature's marvel, that wonderful spectacle, that impressive mass of water falling from up high?

José under his breath: You turned on a tap.

Juan: Where are you two from?

The girls in unison: From Rosario.

Juan turns to José: Relax a little, there's no danger.

Juan to the girls: I love Rosario, it's a beautiful city, I travel there very often, I have friends there.

The girls: Who do you know there?

Juan: The Fernández family.

José mutters to him: Pinocchio.

Juan keeps up his fantasy and talks about the National Park, the beautiful flowers there and the enormous butterflies, birds unknown to city folk.

José is furious at so many lies and tempted to laugh.

Juan keeps going: I'd invite you but I've only just met you and I know you wouldn't accept.

The girls smile and tell them they're going to the restroom so they can go with them to see the falls.

They exit.

José confronts Juan: You've never been to Rosario in your life, and who's this Fernández?

Juan: What town doesn't have a Fernández? And they're not obligated to know them.

The girls left the bill on the table and Juan looks at it and says: If we pay this we won't eat for the remaining 3 days, so out of self-respect, we're not paying, says Juan.

The girls come back from the restroom, look at the unpaid bill, call the waiter over, pay, and then politely say goodbye to the suitors, and one of them says: It was a pleasure meeting you but we're going alone to see the wonders and maybe…

The two suitors are left alone.

José demands that Juan hand over the wallet with their shared money and the tickets, because he doesn't trust that Juan, just to have a good time, is capable of even selling the tickets, they exit arguing.

Third act: The same room, a bit tidier, one suitcase closed, the other with José folding a jacket, the suitcase on the table.

José turns to Juan: Have you packed your suitcase yet?

Juan: Yes, I threw everything in, when Marga gets home she'll take it all out, disinfect it, and put it all in the washing machine.

Hurry up because I don't know how we're going to get to the airport if we don't have enough money for the taxi.

José: A taxi is coming to pick us up in a little while.

Juan: How are we paying for it?

José: We're guests of the couple I made friends with while you were off flirting around, they're traveling with us too, they're celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and they told me we remind them of their grandchildren.

Good thing they didn't notice how you were off chasing butterflies.

He closes the suitcase and they exit.
