The dreams

Dreams aren't always attainable, but they help us live, they're like a key that opens a thousand doors.
In one of them was he, calm, alone, silent. His eyes told of a long history of abandonment, of hunger, of a need for affection, above all of a need to feel like a person.
Rosa's dream was to become a mother. Her attempts to nest another being within herself, as the fruit of love, were thwarted again and again.
Despair and grief led her to that plaza, where she dreamed of the children life had denied her. Several times she crossed paths with him, she was afraid, she became obsessed with that sad-eyed boy who wandered without direction and who looked at her with free eyes that only asked for love. One day they talked, they became friends, the company of each other did them good, it calmed the anxiety in both of them. One day Rosa thought: What's happening to me, what path am I taking? A child isn't an abandoned dog I can take home with me and no one will claim him. Reality struck her in the face, it woke her up and she understood that this was a dream, an impossibility.
They met again, she told him she had to leave on a long journey and didn't know if she'd come back.
She looked at him, she discovered a furious passion in his eyes, he shoved her, making her fall, and sobbing he walked away from her.
Many tried to help her, some wanted to run after him, but all she could see was the sadness and the fury in his eyes.
Silence reigned in the house, she got up, turned on the radio, the announcer's voice was reporting the murder of an elderly woman. She looked at herself in the mirror and said to herself: Dreams are just dreams.
