Memory

I woke up crying, I was 7 years old, my mother tried to find out why I was crying. I didn't answer, I didn't know why. Many years later, in therapy, I was able to relive the terrible experience.
I was in second grade, the school was on Corrientes street. A classmate used to come with her sister, who was in fifth grade. That cursed day, crossing the street, a car ran them over and they both died.
The school decided to take both grades to the wake, which was held at their house, I remember a large dining room and the two coffins, and I saw my classmate dressed in white, motionless. That image haunted my dreams for many years…. It was my first encounter with death, children die too, and I was afraid of dying and I didn't want to die, those were my dreams and they always ended with me waking up crying.
Today, with more knowledge of psychology, I wouldn't expose a child to such a traumatic experience without preparing them for it beforehand.
